For women, genital warts may grow on the vulva and perineal area, in the vagina and on the cervix. Genital warts vary in size and may even be so small that you can't see them.

Genital warts cures are available. Genital warts should be treated by your doctor. Genital warts are usually cause by a viral infection. The warts can be removed, but the viral infection itself can't be cured. The virus goes on living inside your skin. Warts will often return after they have been removed.

If you have any concern at all about genital warts, you're better off with a doctor taking a look at them. Treatments include such things as topical creams and solutions. It's difficult to find an over the counter genital warts cure. Typically, genital warts cures currently on the market for the removal of warts are not suitable in the case of genital warts. Again, it is best to see a doctor.

A doctor may chose to employ a cure for genital warts that involve the use of surgical methods, such as excision. Excision means that warts are removed by performing a minor surgery on the affected area.

Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) is another such genital warts cure. Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure involves using a medical instrument with one end shaped like a loop. The instrument is passed underneath the wart and then cuts it out of the skin. The doctor then cauterizes the affected area.

Another cure for genital warts which many people utilize is Cryotherapy. Cryotherapy involves a doctor applying liquid nitrogen (or sometimes carbon dioxide) on the affected area. The substances are applied for a few seconds, just long enough to freeze the warts. The genital warts are then easily removed.

Cryosurgery is one of the few methods where scarring is less likely. In other surgical based methods genital warts cures, scarring may occur. In some cases disfigurement of the affected area is possible.

As stated earlier, if you have a concern about genital warts, it is wise to consult a doctor. With the information you now have about treatments, you are equipped to make a good decision.
